Liam Brady Wins DBSL Handicap Tournament – Series 3

Congratulations to Liam Brady, of Darcy McGees B, winner of the DBSL Handicap Tournament Series 3. Liam beat Philip Browne 3-2 in a close final. This was the first event in the series where an open draw was done for each section as the day progressed.

DBSL would like to thank Roadstone Snooker Club and Stephen Merrigan for their hospitality throughout the day. We would also like to thank tournament directors Stephen Merrigan and Brendan Murphy for coordinating the event, and to all who attended.

Shane Mason attains Level 1 Class Referee

The DBSL would like to Congratulate Shane Mason who was awarded his Class 1 Referee’s Badge on the 26th January in Killarney after being assessed by Steve Starkie (EASB) Desi Stinson (NIBSA) and Neil Shannahan (RIBSA).

We wish Shane all the best on his snooker referee career and hope to see him progress in the Professional Arena.

Darcy Mc Gees B make Semi Finals at the All Ireland Champs

DBSL would like to wish Darcy McGees B a huge congratulations on reaching the Semi-Finals in the championship section of the All Ireland Snooker Championships in Killarney.
Well done to all the lads, Liam Brady, Phillip McCaffrey, Gavin Stokes, Conor Gaffney, Derek Fitzpatrick, Conor Harkin and Justin Byrne on a fine run to the Semi finals.

RIBSA Intermediate Event Winner mentions

The DBSL would like to congratulate both Brendan Thomas of Roadstone A, on winning the RIBSA Intermediate no.1 held in Celbridge in September, and Andrew Doherty of Willows A, on winning the RIBSA Intermediate no.4 held in Darcy McGees in December.
Andrew was also a finalist in the RIBSA Intermediate no.2 held in Nenagh in October.

A Little Bit Of All Ireland History

For the first time in the history of the all Ireland club championships we will have a team competing which includes 6 members of the same family. Stephen Merrigan, Stephen Merrigan jnr, Pat Merrigan, Alan Merrigan, Shane Merrigan and Daniel Merrigan have qualified for the all Ireland club championships in Killarney, by winning the Dublin qualifier beating Darcy Mc Gees B 3 – 1 in the final. We would like to wish them and all the teams who qualified the very best of luck in Killarney.
