Dublin-Belfast Challenge Match 2008-2009
QE1 Snooker Club, Glengormley - 20th September 2008
Belfast and District League defeated D.B.S.L. 78-66
in the annual Dublin-Belfast challenge match held in the QE1 club in Glengormley
today. Belfast took an early 23-13 lead in the 1st round of matches and although Dublin
rallied in the 2nd round to win 20-16 and close the deficit to 6 points,
Belfast won the third round 19-17 to stretch their lead to 8 points. This proved too much
for Dublin to make up and Belfast duly clinched the win. The highest
break was made by Gary Crawford (QE1), a 120 against Robert Redmond
(A.L.S.A.A.).
