The annual Spawell Club Championship was played on Saturday 7th June 2008. This tournament has been run annually for the last 12 years and is always keenly fought out among the Spawell players. The tournament was run on a straight knock out basis with the early rounds being the best of 5 and the final being played over the best of 7. This year's final was contested between Derek Fitzpatrick and Brendan Murphy. Derek Fitzpatrick after winning the first frame on the black certainly had the luck on his side in running out a 4-0 winner. The high break of the tournament was made by Richard McAuley, a break of 71 which he had in his opening round loss to Karl Bryan.
