6th December 2013:
The
2013 IBSF World Amateur Snooker Championship took place in
Daugavpils, Latvia
and DBSL chairman
Stephen Merrigan (
Roadstone 'A') competed in the
Masters tournament for Ireland. Stephen
reached the last 16 after coming through his group and won knockout matches against fellow Irishman
Shane Gorman and South African
Munier Cassim before losing 4-2 to Welshman
Ian Sargeant.

Ivor Fitzpatrick (
Pioneers) won the second
DBSL Over 35's tournament in
Darcy McGees Snooker Club today.
He beat
Brendan Thomas (
Roadstone Select) 3-2 in the final.

Daniel Merrigan (
Roadstone) won the 2nd
DBSL Under 16 tournament in
Darcy McGees Snooker Club today.
He beat
Andrei Blondu 3-2 in the final. A report and results are available

13th October 2013:
Brendan Thomas (
Roadstone Select) won the first
DBSL Over 35's tournament in
Terry Rogers Snooker Club today.
He beat
Paul Smith (
Roadstone 'A') 3-1 in the final. A report and results are available

12th October 2013:
Darragh Cusack (
Terry Rogers 'D') won the first
DBSL Under 16 tournament in
Terry Rogers Snooker Club today.
He beat team-mate
Josh Duffy 2-0 in the final. A report and results are available

5th October 2013:
The
IBSF World Team and
6 Red Championships took place in
Carlow between
29th September-6th October 2013.
The DBSL had 5 players competing:
Philip Browne (
Roadstone Select) in the
Men's tournament and
Alan Cusack (
Howth CYMS),
Brendan Thomas
(
Roadstone Select),
George O'Hara (
Roadstone Select) and
Stephen Merrigan (
Roadstone 'A') in the
Masters
tournament.
Philip Browne's team (
Ireland 7) qualified for the
Men's knockout stage, beat
Poland 2 in the last 32, but then lost 3-1
to
Ireland 1 in the last 16.
All 4 DBSL players competing in the
Masters qualified for the knockout stage. Stephen Merrigan's team (
Ireland 2) played the team
of Brendan Thomas and George O'Hara (
Ireland 4) and lost 3-0. Brendan and George's team then lost 3-1 to
Scotland 1 in the quarter finals.
Alan Cusack's team (
Ireland 3) beat
Iceland 3-1 in the last 16 and have just beaten number 1 seeds
Wales 1 3-2 in the quarter-finals.
Alan beat former professional
Darren Morgan for his team to go 1 up, and potted the final black to win the final match. His team then lost 3-1 to
England
in the semi-finals.
