12th June 2008: Congratulations go to D.B.S.L. chairman Stephen Merrrigan (Roadstone 'A') for reaching the semi-final of the Masters section of the European Amateur Championship in Poland. Stephen lost 5-1 today to Alan Trigg from England who went on to win the tournament. Stephen also knocked in the 2nd highest break of the tournament with an 84.
 
7th June 2008: Derek Fitzpatrick (Spawell 'A') won the 2008 Spawell Championship in Templeogue today. He beat Brendan Murphy (Spawell 'B') 4-0 in the final. Report and pictures can be viewed here.
 
25th May 2008: Vincent Muldoon from Galway won the Irish Snooker Championship in Carlow today. He beat Garry Hardiman from Spawell 'A' 8-2 in the final. As a result of his victory, Muldoon clinched the Irish no.1 ranking for the season and with it a place on the Professional Main Tour next season.
 
15th March 2008: The individuals for each division were played in Spawell today, with each player handicapped according to the number of matches they lost during the league season. Eamonn Kelly from Spawell 'B' clinched the Premier League individual with a 2-0 win over Robert Redmond (A.L.S.A.A. 'A'). The Division 1 and 2 finals will be played on cup final day on April 5th.
 
13th March 2008: A.L.S.A.A. 'A' won the Premier League title this evening. They beat Spawell 'B' 11-1 to win the title by 12 points.
 
9th March 2008: Vincent Muldoon from Galway won the 6th RIBSA Senior Ranking Tournament in Carlow today. He beat Colm Gilcreest from Navan 5-3 in the final. Best D.B.S.L. performance was from Mark Maher (Spawell 'A') who reached his second successive semi-final before losing 4-2 to Gilcreest.
 
6th March 2008: Ierne and Howth CYMS won their respective divisions this evening. Ierne's 3-1 win over Glenalbyn clinched the Division 1 title with one match remaining. Howth CYMS won 3-1 away to nearest challengers Dublin Bus to win Division 2.
 
23rd February 2008: Phil Arnold won the 4th RIBSA Intermediate ranking tournament in Monkstown Snooker Club today. Phil had earlier knocked out number 2 seed Philip Browne (A.L.S.A.A.) and number 3 seed Mark Walsh (New Institute, Nenagh) before beating the number 1 seed Colvin O'Brien (Ivy Rooms, Carlow) in the final. He also claimed the high break prize with a break of 87. Full results are available here.
 
16th February 2008: A.L.S.A.A. 'A' clinched the Dublin Club Championship today beating Roadstone 'A' 3-1 in the final. 12 teams took part in the tournament which was jointly hosted by the Roadstone and Spawell snooker clubs. Report and results are available here.
 
10th February 2008: Colvin O'Brien from Ivy Rooms (Carlow) won the 5th RIBSA Senior Ranking Tournament in Carlow today. He beat Joe Delaney from Wexford 5-4 in the final. Best D.B.S.L. performance was from Mark Maher (Spawell 'A') who lost 4-3 to Delaney in the semi-finals.
 
27th January 2008: New Institute from Nenagh lifted the All Ireland Club Championship title today beating Roadstone 'A' 3-2 in the final. The Dublin side put in a great effort beating Brook Lodge from Connacht in the quarter-finals and favourites Parkside from Northern Ireland in the semi-finals but just lost out narrowly in the final. A.L.S.A.A. 'A' won the plate competition beating CYMS Letterkenny in the final. The full results from the Championship are available here.
 
13th January 2008: Vincent Muldoon from Galway won the 4th RIBSA Senior Ranking Tournament in Carlow today. He beat John Torpey from New Vic (Limerick) 5-3 in the final. Best D.B.S.L. performance was from Mark Dooley (A.L.S.A.A. 'A') who lost 4-3 to Mark Walsh from New Institute (Nenagh) in the quarter-finals.
 
15th December 2007: Roadstone 'A' and A.L.S.A.A. 'A' secured the final two All-Ireland Club Championship spots. The championship itself takes place on the 25th to 27th of January.
 
10th December 2007: Colm Gilcreest from the Emerald club in Navan won the 3rd RIBSA Senior Ranking Tournament in Carlow yesterday. He beat Robert Murphy from Q Club (Wicklow) 5-4 in the final. Best D.B.S.L. performance was from Robert Redmond (A.L.S.A.A. 'A') who lost 4-2 to Gilcreest in the quarter-finals.
 
2nd December 2007: Philip Browne from A.L.S.A.A. 'A' reached the final of the 3rd RIBSA Intermediate tournament in Letterkenny today. Philip beat Bernard McGuinness (Northwest), Martin Divilly (Brook Lodge) and Jason Devaney (Savoy) in the knockout stages before eventually losing to Colvin O'Brien (Ivy Rooms) 3-0 in the final. Colvin had the biggest break of 103, with Brendan Murphy from Spawell 'B' making a break of 80 in the earlier group stages.

26th November 2007: Saturday saw the opening D.B.S.L. qualifiers for the All-Ireland Club Championship, which saw each division have a seperate qualifier to see who would compete in Killarney later this season. Spawell 'A' won the Premier League qualifier, Spawell 'D' qualified from Division 1, while Roadstone 'D' came through in Division 2.
