11th January 2009: Brendan O'Donoghue from Nenagh won the
4th RIBSA Senior Ranking Tournament in Carlow
today. He beat Martin McCrudden (Celbridge) 5-3 in the final.
Robert Redmond (A.L.S.A.A.) compiled the highest break
for the second ranking event running with a 141.
Best D.B.S.L. performance was from Keith Sheldreck (Roadstone 'A')
who lost 3-1 to John O'Sullivan (Laois), and from George O'Hara
(A.L.S.A.A.) who lost 3-0 to David Hogan (Nenagh), both in the
last 16.
 
3rd January 2009: Keith Sheldreck (
Roadstone 'A') won his first over 35's
tournament in Spawell Snooker Club today beating
Gary Stewart (
Roadstone 'C') 3-2 in the final.

20th December 2008: Philip Browne (A.L.S.A.A.) won the latest 6 reds tournament in
Carlow today beating local player Colvin O'Brien 4-2 in the final. On route to the final,
he beat Dermot Ging (Carlow) 3-0 in the last 16, Jason Keogh (Navan) 3-0 in the quarter-final, and
had an excellent 3-0 win over Phil Arnold (Celbridge) in the semi-final.
 
14th December 2008: Mario Fernandez from Limerick won the
3rd RIBSA Senior Ranking Tournament in Carlow
today. He beat Robert Murphy from Glenageary 5-1 in the final.
Robert Redmond (A.L.S.A.A.) compiled the highest break of the tournament
with a magnficent 143.
Best D.B.S.L. performance was from Keith Sheldreck (Roadstone 'A') who reached the
quarter-final before losing 4-0 to Fernandez.
 
6th December 2008: D.B.S.L. chairman

won the 2nd over 35's tournament in
Spawell Snooker Club today
beating
Mick Holohan (
Glenalbyn 'A')

22nd November 2008: Roadstone 'A', Roadstone 'B' and Spawell 'A'
qualified for the All Ireland Club Championship today by coming through the D.B.S.L. Club
Championship qualifiers in Spawell today. They join A.L.S.A.A. and Howth CYMS who had
earlier qualified by winning their respective divisions last season. The All Ireland Club
Championship takes place from January 22nd-25th.
 
16th November 2008: Mario Fernandez from Limerick won the
2nd RIBSA Senior Ranking Tournament in Carlow
today. He beat Brendan O'Donoghue (New Institute, Nenagh) 5-4 in the
final, coming back from 3-0 down early on.
Colvin O'Brien from Carlow compiled the highest break of the tournament, a 104.
Best D.B.S.L. performance was from George Tierney (Roadstone 'A') who reached the
semi-final beating former national champion T.J. Dowling (Celbridge) along the way
before losing 4-1 to the eventual winner Fernandez.
 
24th October 2008: Derek Fitzpatrick (Spawell 'B') made a tremendous
105 break this week in his league match against Keith Sheldreck (Roadstone 'A') which he
eventually won 2-1. After the 1st series of matches A.L.S.A.A. lead the Premier League,
Roadstone 'C' are 5 points clear in Division 1, while Roadstone 'E' currently head Division 2. Any players
who make century breaks in their league matches are welcome to e-mail the details into the site.
 
27th September 2008: Naoise Kelly (
Glenalbyn 'A')
won the 1st over 35's tournament in
Spawell Snooker Club today
beating
Brendan Murphy (
Spawell 'B')

20th September 2008: Belfast and District League defeated D.B.S.L. 78-66
in the annual Dublin-Belfast challenge match held in the QE1 club in Glengormley
today. Belfast took an early lead in the 1st round of matches and although Dublin
rallied in the 2nd round, Belfast won the last 2 rounds to win the match. The highest
break was made by
Gary Crawford (QE1), a 120 against
Robert Redmond

20th September 2008: The 1st RIBSA Intermediate of 2008-2009 was played in Kilkenny
Snooker Club today and was won by
Andrew Gray (Waterford), who beat
Jason Waters
(New Vic, Limerick) 3-0 in the final. Results from the tournament are available
